Missing the Olympics, even though it’s been less than two weeks since the 2024 Summer Olympics closing ceremony? You won’t have to wait much longer to see some of the best athletes in the world compete in Paris because the 2024 Paralympics start today.
Over the next 11 days, over 4,000 athletes will compete in 22 sports with 549 events in total. It all begins tonight with an opening ceremony on the Champs-Élysées at the Place de la Concorde.

At the opening ceremony, four-time wheelchair basketball Paralympian and two-time gold medalist Steve Serio and 2016 Rio Paralympic sitting volleyball gold medalist Nicky Nieves will serve as Team USA’s flag bearers.
As the official broadcast home of the Olympics, NBC will serve as the official broadcast home for the Paralympics as well, with a record number of programming hours set for cable in addition to every single event streaming live on Peacock.
