Why Pamela Anderson turned down appearing in new ‘Baywatch’ docuseries

Pamela Anderson is moving on from her past.

The blonde bombshell, 57, did not participate in the new four-part Hulu docuseries about “Baywatch,” the show that catapulted her into worldwide fame in the 1990s.

“After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun” features new interviews about the show and its legacy with many former cast members — except for Anderson.

According to TMZ, Anderson was asked to be involved in the doc, but she said no.

Insiders claimed she “has no bad blood” with any of her former co-stars and “has always appreciated” her role as C.J. Parker.

However, Anderson “is in a different chapter of her life” now, the insiders said, adding that she’s focused on greater opportunities that have come her way.

Anderson has been keeping busy with two new movies that are coming out.

She’s in “The Last Showgirl,” a drama film that will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 6. Her co-stars include Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song and Kiernan Shipka.

Anderson will also star in the fifth “The Naked Gun” movie alongside , Paul Walter Hauser and Kevin Durand. The film is due for release in 2025.

While Anderson turned down the “Baywatch” doc, unaired interviews of the actress are prominently featured in the project.

The second episode of the docuseries, called “Show Me the Money,” is all about Anderson and how she helped make “Baywatch” a success.

The description for the episode reads, “How a young, blonde bombshell helps turn ‘Baywatch’ into an international hit. Her name: Pamela Anderson.”

Anderson’s leaked 1996 sex tape with Tommy Lee was unsurprisingly a big topic in the docuseries.

Michael Berk, co-creator and producer on “Baywatch,” said that the actress was almost written off the show because of the infamous scandal.

“When Pam’s sex tape came out, the studio said, ‘Look, write her out of a couple of episodes, we’ve got to figure out what we’ll do with this, this is a disaster,’” Berk recalled.

However, the sex tape actually made “Baywatch” rise in the ratings, Berk said, so Anderson kept her job.

Speaking about the scandal in one of her unaired interviews, Anderson said, “It was stolen property. It was two crazily naked people in love. We were naked all the time and filming each other, being silly.”

“But those tapes were not meant for anybody else to see,” the “Home Improvement” alum added. “I have not seen it to this day, it was very hurtful.”

Anderson also skipped the red carpet premiere for the documentary in Santa Monica on Monday night. Her former co-stars Carmen Electra, Nicole Eggert, Alexandra Paul, Jeremy Jackson, Brandy Ledford, David Chokachi and more reunited at the event.

David Hasselhoff, who played Mitch Buchannon, also didn’t make an appearance, though he does pop up in the docuseries in old interviews he did for “Baywatch: The Documentary.”

“After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun” is streaming on Hulu.
