Oasis is “Definitely Maybe” getting back together.
After teasing a reunion on social media earlier this week, Liam and Noel Gallagher made the news official two days ahead of the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough aforementioned record.
The Britpop icons announced that they will play 14 concerts in Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland next summer as part of their ‘Live ’25 Tour.’
That includes four back-to-back gigs at Manchester’s Heaton Park and another four at London’s Wembley Stadium.
“This is it, this is happening,” the group shared on Instagram.
“It sounds like a test run,” Carson Daly said on The Today Show. “There’s no dates in the States announced or any other continent.”
Prior to this short run, the “Wonderwall” band’s last show together was at an August 2009 festival in support of their final record, 2008’s “Dig Out Your Soul.” They never played their final scheduled gig at Paris’ Rock en Seine Festival; Oasis broke up before taking the stage.
“We were backstage waiting to go onstage to 30,000 people in Paris,” Noel told NPR in 2012. “The tour manager came in and said, ‘Five minutes!’ We broke up within that five minutes. I’m not proud of that, but all things come to an end.”
If you can’t wait to see the brothers Gallagher belt “Champagne Supernova,” “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” “Supersonic” and so many more hits live for the first time together in 16 (!) years, tickets are available as of today.
