Crying bride told brother to stay out of family photos — he couldn’t believe the ‘ridiculous’ reason why
Perhaps it isn’t a night she’ll want to remember forever.
A 15-year-old brother of a bride has claimed he was exiled from his sister’s wedding because she and their mother had a meltdown over his crutches being visible in family photos.
The 22-year-old atomic bridezilla named Sophia showed little sympathy that her younger sibling, Boris, living with mild cerebral palsy, was “just having a very ‘off’ day,” the boy wrote on Reddit recently.
“My legs hurt and my balance was way off,” he posted. “Although I planned on using my black cane I ended up having to use my crutches which are blue. I figured it would be fine (because who would care anyways?)”
It wasn’t until the reception that the two were actually able to first “greet” on the big day.
Instead of a loving embrace, though, “she seemed awfully offended” that he wasn’t using his color palette-friendly cane — she was worried his blue crutches would “ruin the color scheme” — and instructed her brother to remain seated the whole time.
Despite Boris being limited to “heavily relying on [his] crutches for balance,” she still “complained to [their mom] in a cranky voice” that he was “ruining” the photos.
“I told her to suck it up. Then she begged our [mom] to tell me to not be in the FAMILY PHOTOS,” Boris wrote.
“I was sure that my [mom] would notice how ridiculous that is but my [mom] just sided with my sister and told me that I was technically ruining the theme.”
An awful argument ensued between the three of them before things took a turn for the worse. Sophia’s makeup was ruined from her tears over the “ugly blue crutches” in the photos — and Boris’ mom sent him home.
“I couldn’t believe my sister was crying about something so stupid,” Boris, the only boy of seven sisters, wrote.
“I wasn’t allowed to stay for food, or the cake cutting … My whole family is saying ‘it’s her special day’ and how I ruined it by causing a fuss.”
Outside the clan, opinions differed online.
“Your family is a bunch of a–holes. They owe you the apology,” one commented.
“The day is about love, where’s the love in this?” added another.
“Your sister threw a tantrum over something so stupid,” preached a third. “And then they kick you out of the entire event because she was being ridiculous. And everyone will know that your family kicked you out of the reception because of your disability WHICH YOU CANNOT CONTROL!”
